Over 22.6 GW! The Results Of Germany's Latest Round Of Photovoltaic Bidding Have Been Announced


    On August 14th, the German Federal Network Agency announced the results of the ground-based photovoltaic bidding held on July 1st, 2025. The capacity of this round of bidding was 2.266 GW. 
    This round of bidding saw an overwhelming subscription, attracting 313 project proposals with a total application capacity of 2.82 GW. Among them, 258 bids submitted a total of 2.271 GW of photovoltaic projects, while 36 bids were excluded from the process. 
    From the perspective of the winning bid prices, the price range for this round of bidding is 0.0400 to 0.0626 euros per kilowatt-hour, with a weighted average price of 0.0484 euros per kilowatt-hour, which is slightly higher than the 0.0466 euros per kilowatt-hour of the previous round of bidding. 
    In terms of regional allocation, it is consistent with the situation of previous rounds of tenders. The Bavarian state has the largest allocation, reaching 689MW, involving 106 winning projects; followed closely is the Rhineland-Palatinate state, with an allocation of 251MW, covering 23 winning projects; Lower Saxony ranks third with an allocation of 250MW, involving 18 winning projects. 
    According to the announcement by the German Federal Network Agency, the next round of solar energy project bidding will be held on December 1, 2025.
