The Largest Single-site Photovoltaic Power Station in South Africa - The Moi 240MW Photovoltaic Power Station's PV2 Area Has Officially Been Energized

On October 28th local time, the Moi 240-megawatt photovoltaic power station PV2 area, which was constructed with the participation of China Energy Engineering Group Gezhouba Power Company, officially went into operation. It is the largest single photovoltaic power station in South Africa.

The project is located at the Mooiplaats farm in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. The construction scope includes building a 240-megawatt photovoltaic power plant, along with the construction of a step-up substation, a switch station, and the laying of a 11.3-kilometer transmission line from the switch station to the Koruson main substation.

After the overall project is put into operation, it will generate approximately 360 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity annually. This will effectively alleviate the current shortage of electricity in South Africa and is of great significance for promoting the transformation of the local energy and power structure and facilitating the region's green and low-carbon development.
