Investing Approximately 200 Million US Dollars! Turkey Signs Contract for 2.5GW Integrated Silicon Wafer Battery Production Base
Recently, according to local Turkish media reports, Turkish battery component manufacturer Alfa Solar and Astronergy Europe (ZTE Germany Company) announced that they have signed a joint venture agreement and will jointly build an integrated silicon wafer and solar cell production base in the Balqueciyil Province of Turkey.
According to the statement, the initial annual production capacity target of this project is 2.5 GW, covering the entire process of solar silicon wafer and battery production. The first phase factory is expected to invest approximately 200 million US dollars and is planned to be built on designated land within the organized industrial zone of Balkeesir in the northwestern Balkeesir Province.
A statement published on the Turkish public disclosure platform (KAP) further stated that after the planned share transfer and capital increase process is completed, Alfa Solar and Astronergy Europe will each hold 50% of the equity in the joint venture company.
It is known that the agreement has clearly defined the core principles of the joint venture cooperation, but the project operation can only commence after obtaining approval from the regulatory authorities.
According to the data, Alfa Solar was established in 2011 and focuses on the manufacturing of photovoltaic modules and related new energy businesses. It is one of the leading enterprises in the Turkish photovoltaic sector. ZTE New Energy is an intelligent manufacturing enterprise under the ZTE Group that specializes in photovoltaic battery modules. It is one of the earliest private enterprises in China to enter the photovoltaic field and also one of the earliest enterprises in the industry to achieve mass production of n-type TOPCon modules.
