The National Energy Administration organized and held a summary meeting on the pilot work of the resource census for wind power and photovoltaic power generation

    To systematically summarize the achievements and experiences of the pilot work on the census of wind and photovoltaic power generation resources, deepen the guidance for the nationwide census of wind and photovoltaic resources, and promote the better application of the census results in the industry's development, on the afternoon of January 29th, the National Energy Administration organized and held a summary meeting on the pilot work of the census of wind and photovoltaic power generation resources. Wan Jinsong, member of the Party Group and deputy director of the National Energy Administration and the group leader of the pilot work on the census of wind and photovoltaic power generation resources, and Bi Baogui, member of the Party Group and deputy director of the China Meteorological Administration, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. 
    At the meeting, the energy and meteorological authorities of the six pilot provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), namely Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Xizang and Qinghai, as well as the three technical support units, namely the Hydropower and Water Conservancy Planning and Design Institute, the Public Meteorological Service Center of the China Meteorological Administration and the National Marine Technology Center, introduced the progress of their work. The New Energy Department of the National Energy Administration comprehensively reviewed the progress of the work and the achievements and experiences gained from the pilot projects. The member units of the pilot work group, including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the China Meteorological Administration and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, systematically sorted out the work carried out in light of their respective responsibilities and put forward suggestions for the next steps. 
    The meeting fully affirmed the achievements made in the pilot work of the census, pointing out that the pilot work has explored a scientific and efficient path for the census, formed a batch of core technologies and methods that are independently controllable, and trained a professional team with strong capabilities and a hardworking style, which has accumulated valuable working experience for the census of wind and solar resources. 
    The meeting emphasized that the census results should be taken as an opportunity to comprehensively enhance the industry's management level, transforming from "empirical estimation" to "scientific decision-making" in planning, from "fragmented management" to "systematic collaboration" in management, and from "scale-oriented" to "value-oriented" in concept. It is necessary to further sort out and summarize the achievements of the pilot projects, further improve technical methods and working mechanisms, promptly formulate a national wind and solar resource census work plan, and intensify the application and promotion of census results within the industry, so as to make new and greater contributions to accelerating the construction of a new energy system and promoting the realization of the strategic goal of becoming an energy power with solid achievements. 
    Representatives from the New Energy Department of the National Energy Administration, member units of the working group for the pilot project of wind power and photovoltaic power generation resource census, energy and meteorological authorities of the pilot provinces, and technical support units attended the meeting.
