Global Solar O&M Market Reaches 348GW as Industry Consolidates

The global solar PV operations and maintenance (O&M) market continued to expand in 2025, with the total capacity under management reaching 348GW, according to Wood Mackenzie.

Market Adds 61GW in 2025

The global O&M market added approximately 61GW of new capacity during the year. More than 130 O&M service providers across the Americas, Asia-Pacific excluding China, Europe, the Middle East and Africa were tracked in the latest market analysis.

The market is becoming increasingly concentrated. The top 15 O&M providers managed around 200GW, representing approximately 57% of the global market. These leading companies are also expanding their operations across multiple regions.

Leading Providers Strengthen Their Position

Novasource Power Services ranked first globally with 38.4GW under management, followed by RES Energy Global Services, SOLV Energy, Solarig Energy Services and Recurrent Energy.

Several companies recorded significant growth in 2025. Sterling & Wilson increased its managed capacity by 53% to 13.5GW, while Engie more than doubled its portfolio and climbed to eighth place globally.

Regional Trends Diverge

Growth varied significantly across regions. In North America, stronger competition pushed the cost of full-service O&M contracts down 18% year on year.

Meanwhile, O&M activity in the Middle East and Africa nearly doubled, attracting more service providers to the market.

The trend points to a rapidly growing but increasingly consolidated global solar O&M industry, with scale and international expansion becoming important competitive advantages.
