SEG Solar Builds A 4GW Photovoltaic Module Factory in The US

The Arctic Star Solar Photovoltaic Network has learned that on May 7th, the US-based solar module manufacturer SEG Solar announced that it will build a 4GW module factory in Houston, Texas. The new factory covers an area of nearly 500,000 square feet and has an investment of over 200 million US dollars. It is expected to create up to 800 local jobs. The new factory is planned to officially commence commercial operations in the third quarter of 2026.

After the completion of this component factory, it will complement SEG Solar's existing 2GW component production capacity in Texas. At that time, the annualized total production capacity of its components in the US region will increase to approximately 6GW.

In fact, SEG Solar has been actively expanding and investing in the solar and energy storage sectors in recent years. In the solar sector, the company has announced plans to build a 5GW silicon ingot/silicon wafer factory in Indonesia, with construction expected to commence in the second quarter of 2026. Once the project is fully implemented, SEG Solar will establish a vertically integrated supply chain covering silicon ingots, silicon wafers, batteries, and modules. In the energy storage sector, on March 26 this year, SEG announced the establishment of the SEG Energy department in Indonesia, officially entering the global photovoltaic energy storage market. SEG Energy has launched a residential energy storage system integrated with the SEG Home App, as well as industrial, commercial, and utility-scale energy storage solutions, equipped with a dedicated energy management system.

This indicates that SEG is transforming from a simple component supplier to a comprehensive energy service provider specializing in "photovoltaics + energy storage", meeting the rapidly growing energy transition demands in Indonesia and further securing the long-term growth benefits of the US market.
