China Polysilicon Market Remains in a Wait-and-See Mode

China’s polysilicon market remained subdued this week, with buyers maintaining a cautious procurement strategy while producers continued discussions around price discipline and production cuts.

Limited Transactions, Prices Hold at RMB 40–43/kg

According to the latest data released by the Silicon Industry Association on September 9, actual polysilicon transactions remained limited, with only a small number of deals reported.

Current market prices are estimated at around RMB 40–43/kg, while most producers have yet to restore regular public pricing.

Supply-Side Adjustments Underway

Some polysilicon producers have proposed production cuts to improve supply-demand conditions. As discussions over the pace and scale of these cuts continue, companies are becoming more cautious about shipments, keeping marketable supply relatively tight.

At the same time, downstream demand has not strengthened significantly. Buyers are mainly purchasing according to immediate needs, resulting in even weaker trading activity compared with last week.

Market Consensus Still Developing

The market remains focused on whether planned production cuts can be effectively implemented. While tighter supply could provide support for prices, a sustainable recovery will depend on stronger downstream procurement and a clearer supply-demand balance.

For now, China’s polysilicon market remains in a wait-and-see phase, with price expectations still being established.
